The Premiere for The Light of The Green Lantern

February 15, 2023 The Distant Worlds and some friends showed up and showed out at the legendary Crofoot located in the heart of downtown Pontiac. The Crofoot is typically a concert venue, having held shows from the likes of multi-platinum artist Future and Comedy Central comedian Rory Scovel, but upstairs from the main stage hides a smaller more intimate venue dubbed The Pike Room. This became the location for the premiere of our second film 
"The Light of the Green Lantern".



BREAKDOWN
At 4PM, Director and writer of the film Doug Saunders and his wife, the ever creative Valerie along with producer and Distant Worlds creator Kevin Cowell began to set up for the screening, luckily the setup went by without a hitch.
Its now 5pm and the guest and Distant Worlds members start to roll in. Some greeting each other like family and some meeting for the first time, but the one thing that was certain was a shared respect among everyone in the room for either the role they played in the Distant Worlds or just for their support in our projects.
The plan was to run down a playlist of trailers of upcoming projects and and a double feature show of Justice League: TaskForce (our debut film) and 
The Light of The Green Lantern (our newest film).




Unfortunately, the sound on the Justice League: TaskForce file was too low to be heard so we moved on to the two trailers.
1. The Crimson Avenger: A Gotham Story (planned to begin production in late Summer)
2. Batman: The War Is Lost (a project that's currently being filmed).
And then.......it started. What we all came to see, the superhero origin story of one of DC's underrated golden age heroes, The Green Lantern.
There was action, some laughs and suspense as the crowd watched on and a few raised eyebrows as a mysterious post credit scene that sets up future adventures played.

All in all it was a great night for a great premiere. God knows we couldn't have asked for a better crowd of people to share this film with.

If you know anything about us as at The Distant Worlds films you know we like to plan ahead, that's why when you walk on our film sets you see films planned out from chapter one all the way to chapter 2 with someone else secretly assigned to take care of chapter 3. Each chapter in the distant world universe will contain approximately 5 or more movies and/or web series. Some people see it as excessive but I for one love it because I can never get enough of DC Comics and knowing that we have more films planned as time goes on it keeps me amped up and I think it keeps the character actors amped up as well knowing that they have more work to look forward to. We begun filming "Batman: The War Is Lost" back on November 26th, 2022. With production beginning back in May of 2022, director & writer Doug Saunders has been hard at work with the Distant Worlds team crafting the newest chapter in the Distant Worlds Independent DC Cinematic Universe . Aaron Wacker reprising his role as Alan Scott from Justice League: Taskforce , struggles to find his inner strength but with the help of an eternal magical energy known as the Starheart, Alan Scott is embued with the powers of the Green Lantern.
